Primary schools cricket coaching and tournament 2008

Once again the successful primary schools coaching programme was organised and involved eight primary schools.

Following the coaching sessions, a tournament was held at Preston Cricket Club.

Due a clash with other events, the number of schools entering was limited, but an exciting final was played by the two previous winners of the Red Rose Cup.

Deepdale school looked in control with the last two batters for St. Ignatius needing over 10 runs in the final over. With one ball to go, the scores were level and St.Ignatius held their nerve to get the winning runs off the last ball.

The win meant that St.Ignatius have won the cup two out of the three times that it has been contested.
